Bemanifest Pre-planning

Just for my own reference’s sake, planning on 4 people together (myself and 3 Floridians). I’m taking a train in, they’re flying in.

Date: 6/27-7/1

Car rental (from Boston): $100/person
Hotel: $100/person
BMF entry: $135/person (unless there’s a batch price? I need to talk to Anthony)

Hotel prices are approximated if we arrive ON the 27th and leave ON the 1st. Don’t see why it wouldn’t be done that way, but I can’t be too sure.

Everything else, it’s out of our own pockets.

Caz was awesome. It was such a relaxing weekend. Granted we didn’t go sledding, and Risa was really sick all weekend (feel better hun!) I still loved being there. Jarred and I drove up on Saturday and we hung around for a while with Shelly, Kristi, Corey, and Ashleigh. Grabbed food at the local pizza shop – which has the most amazing wings, for the record. Kristi and I went back out this way to Carousel Mall, where we wandered around, window shopping. We played a round of DDR where I was stuck on Beginner mode because the Supernova machine is STILL broken and the down arrow wasn’t responding. Ah well, it was fun to freestyle again. I think Kristi beat me on a couple of the songs too, that was amusing to see. We also went to Build-A-Bear, and we built a monkey. Named him George. He’s awesome. I gotta hand it to that place, they know how to make some cuddly stuffed animals. The process is so much fun, too. Stopped at Wegmans afterward to show her where I used to work, grabbed a couple things, and we were on our way back to Caz. We spent the rest of the night together, relaxing in front of the TV.

Sunday we grabbed brunch at the dining hall, making fun of how bad some of the food there was – but then again, when isn’t campus food bad? Afterwards Kristi and I just lounged around watching more movies until Nick showed up from Norwich. By that time though it was almost dark, so we all – being Kristi, myself, Jarred, Shelly, and Nick – just grabbed dinner. We went out to this somewhat fancy restaurant/bar that was downtown, really good food. Quite the adventure packing us all into Nick’s truck, too. Came back to the dorms and just hung around with everyone. I left around midnight, only because I wanted some sleep for class in the morning.

Monday came and went, class was pretty good because Jarred and I kick ass at networking up Windows and Linux boxes together. He hung out here after class for a little while because of the bad weather, but thankfully it cleared up for the most part. I’ve just been busy with working on Edge|Emu and doing laundry, while talking to Kristi, distracting her from anything and everything. It’s what I do best.

Full week ahead of me as usual, with school and work. Life is good.

Weekends are fun-filled.

Friday was a pretty friggin’ sweet day. Went out to Utica with Chris and we met up with Brad, Robyn, and another one of Brad’s friends to get some food at Uno’s and see The Grudge 2 at the local, ghetto-tastic movie theatre. The theatre was filled with the rowdiest, craziest crowd that completely overreacted to the less-than-stellar scary parts of the movie. I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed it as much if that type of crowd wasn’t there though, I’m almost sure. The movie wasn’t that good. Either way it was still an awesome time. Robyn and I also went to the nearby Coldstone to grab some awesome icecream, though the selection there was kindy shitty for the price I paid… ah well. Still good times :D

Saturday was filled with more fun. Although I had work at 7:30 in the morning – I only ended up getting about 3 hours of sleep – I was still pumped. Took a trip out to Rochester with Chris, Jon, Paul, and Narsk to Arena 51. They upgraded their ITG2 machine to an R21 and enabled the custom simfiles so we were albe to load our own songs. I proceeded to bastardize the machine with Lazytown simfiles and DJ Damien’s “Guyz Dongz” which definitly should’ve won Tournamix just for the song title alone. Parodying DJ Potatoe was only a plus. haha. We grabbed food at the Old Country Buffet nearby, then had dessert back at Arena because Heat’s girlfriend Kate baked me a pretty cake for the bemaniso tracker’s one year birthday. It was really good. The Rochester crowd is really chill too, Especially Andrew who brought his lady-friend who seemed highly amused at all the jokes we were cracking. Met up with some old friends there too that I haven’t seen in a while, so that only made it better.

Sunday was my day to catch up on sleep, definitly. I had work early (yet again) at 7:30. This time I actually got about 5 hours of sleep, not much better but still a decent improvement. I came home from work, did a bit of laundry and proceeded to zonk out until this morning. I’d say I got about 12 hours of sleep or so? Definitly needed that. I feel much more refreshed now.
Pictures and videos I posted at my LiveJournal, so check there for the few shots I was able to grab. Too busy having fun to really snap pictures :P

This weekend I’ll probably be back out in Utica, then after that I think I’m road-tripping. And then to Rochester after THAT. Needless to say, I’m taking full advantage of my weekends spending time with awesome people and having a shitload of fun.

Fun in the boonies.

Back from my sister’s graduation ceremony. She’s got a bachelor’s in social work, it’s pretty sweet.

Throughout my trip I passed through Russia, Poland, Peru, Trenton and… Ohio. If you haven’t guessed, people who settled in the boonies obviously weren’t good at coming up with original names for their towns.

The mall there had a PIU Zero. The lack of Space Fantasy, Run to You, and An Interesting View disappointed me. But Beethoven Virus spins made it worth playing. Been about 3 years or so since I’ve been able to play?

Went barhopping with my older siblings so that was fun.

Sis is pretty much giving me her old computer… a 666mhz Pentium. I nicknamed it “devil’ when we first got it like 5-6 years ago… gonna fix it up in the basement and turn it into a stepmania / beatmania-sim PC, output it to the TV.

and oh wow I asked for Saturday off like 3 weeks ago and they scheduled me anyway… time to bitch someone out.

Feeling better.

I’ve had a rough week, needless to say. Lots of nervous breakdowns, crying, just general unhappiness. And I just can’t pinpoint where it all came from. No matter though, I’m over it now. Rachel comes home Wednesday night and is staying through the weekend. I’m overly excited about that. Right now, that’s what I need the most.

Work isn’t getting any better, really. I’m still unhappy there but I’m gonna see about getting some work-study at college to help me financially. My mom says they pay pretty well – as much as I make right now at Wegmans – so that would be a nice boost.

The one other thing bugging me was the I recently got totally fed up with people IMing me only to bug me for computer help and to talk about internet-related things. Yeah I help run a few websites, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a life outside them. I think I drove the point home when I changed my screenname and everyone looked at my profile. Much better now. I actually get people holding conversations with me! It’s great.

Been playing a lot of Beatmania IIDX recently to pass some time. I’m progressively getting better at it; I can pass most 4s and 5s on L7. I know it’s not much… but considering I just started to play like a week ago, I’d say it’s going pretty well.

The stand for my MIDI keyboard finally came in the mail too; it’s at Rachel’s house so I’ll have to get that when she comes home. Playing piano has always relaxed me.
