Amazing weekend with an amazing girl.

Liz came over for the weekend and I could barely hold my excitement for being with her – I didn’t much sleep Friday night, I was up until about 3am on Skype with a bunch of people and having a fantastic time. She showed up Saturday around noon, and from then on we had an amazing time together.

We took a trip downtown, which despite contrary belief isn’t too bad of a place. We visited the Musem of Science and Technology, which sadly was a little bit of a letdown. Nearly half the place was filled with K’Nex exhibits talking about physics, not as much hands-on stuff as there usually is. But we did get to see a live demonstration of someone playing with liquid nitrogen. And got to look and play with all the other cool science exhibits they had there. We went to the planetarium too, that was fun. I’ve always been fascinated by the stars and the moon, so I liked that a lot.

After the museum we wandered around the streets, passing by small shops and stopping into a couple. I had to take her to the Hot Shoppe because if there’s one store to visit in the square, it’s that. And we both love hot sauces and spices. Visited the local trendy downtown record store too, because we’re, uh, so trendy. Didn’t buy anything though, just browsed around for a while.

Came back to the house, watched some CSI for a while. Then my mom made us some awesome homemade pizza for dinner. Deeeelicious. After dinner, Liz and I made buckeyes, which is quite possibly the most amazing dessert. If you don’t know what they are, I suggest you look them up. This would be the case if you’ve never been to/lived in Ohio (My aunt used to live in Toledo).

After our baking experience we took off to Lights on the Lake which was Liz’s first time going, and she really enjoyed it. I go every year since it’s practically in my backyard (the park is a quarter mile from me) and it’s always enjoyable to go.

Came back and spent the rest of the night watching Farce of the Penguins and just being extremely happy to be together.

Today we went shopping, to Kohl’s, Target, Wal-Mart, and the various stores at the mall. Watched Dogma afterwards, and spent time playing Sonic 2. Had dinner, and before long Liz had to take off back home. I miss her already.
